Accurate as ever with the ball and extremely valuable with the bat, an all-rounder in its truest sense. Born in 1994 in Gujarat, Axar Patel made his first-class and List A Debuts in the 2012-13 season. Axar earned his maiden ODI call up in 2014. He made his international Debut against Bangladesh in Mirpur and his T20I Debut next year against Zimbabwe in Harare. The all-rounder continued to shine in India colors and went on to make a memorable Test Debut against England in 2021 in Chennai, where he claimed his maiden five-wicket haul. Axar made valuable contributions in Team India’s victorious consecutive ICC campaigns – the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 and the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025. The all-rounder’s consistent performances with the bat and ball earned him the role of India’s T20I vice-captain in 2025. He carried this leadership role and his indispensable skillset into India's historic run at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. Stepping up on the grandest stage once again, Axar delivered a crucial three-wicket spell in the final against New Zealand to help India lift the trophy and become the first nation to successfully defend a T20 World Cup title.
